Historic Old War Office transformed into London’s first Raffles Hotel
The Old War Office, completed in 1906 and designed by architect William Young, served as the British Army’s administrative headquarters and played a significant role during both World Wars, with figures like Sir Winston Churchill working within its walls. After its decommissioning in 1964, it was acquired for redevelopment and transformed into London’s first Raffles Hotel, blending its rich heritage with modern luxury while preserving its original grandeur.
