Transforming a famous landmark: AV consultancy for Edwin Lutyens’ grade I listed redevelopment
We successfully provided AV consultancy services for the redevelopment of Edwin Lutyens designed Grade I listed building. This included AV consultancy across 67 location / spaces. Including 184 luxury suites, spa & wellness, heritage ballroom, fine dining restaurants, bar including the famous ‘Goldfingers Vault bar’, conference & meeting / event spaces. Quality and care were paramount across all aspects of the project – the Heritage ballroom itself having 3 metre tapestry on each four of the six metre high walls. The quality of sound systems were extremely important to Soho House and the Brief was for foreground music systems in most areas. We included BSS Audio system, Centralised Creston control, Networked Dante audio solutions and Extensive Satellite & TV distribution solution to cover all global regions of TV broadcasts.
Quality without compromise for the grade listed building
Finding solutions for the Grade listed space that were in keeping with the aesthetics whilst not compromising on quality. Given the constraints, a typical approach to speaker selection would not work. We proposed digitally steerable array speakers, which are tall and thin and provide an even coverage over a larger area, to the Client. We finished the design with bespoke brackets, which were mounted to the columns and hand painted a marble effect, making them unnoticeable.
