Transforming the historic American Embassy into a Rosewood 5-Star hotel

As a result of Blends performance on Qatari Diar’s Chelsea Barracks Phase 4 scheme, we were presented with the opportunity to tender for the AV & IT Consultancy services in relation to the transformation of the old American Embassy into a 5* Hotel – of which we were successful and appointed in 2017. The announcement that it would be operated by Rosewood came sometime later. This was a welcome surprise, as having already completed The Rosewood Hotel in Chancery Court and appointed on Rosewood Vienna and Amsterdam.

Innovative guest room management systems

As we were responsible for Guest Room Management System (GRMS) we were able to lead the Design Team and Operator through the design process and introduce a bespoke plate manufacturer, to produce guest room control plates tailored to the requirements of Rosewood including control of Lutron MyRoom systems – a guestroom system responsible for light, temperature, and shade control. Set to be the first in the UK to receive a BREEAM outstanding rating for sustainable development.
