Inmarsat’s strategic relocation: Embracing advanced technologies and enhanced governance
Inmarsat relocated from their offices located on 99 City Road to 50 Finsbury Square. This move provided an exciting opportunity to adopt new ways of working and integrate advanced workplace and smart building technologies. Additionally, the relocation allowed for the renewal of their mission-critical control room and monitoring systems in a state-of-the-art facility. The project involved a broad and diverse range of stakeholders, particularly in determining the requirements for the control room and monitoring systems. The client team also evaluated options for the latest technologies related to AV, collaboration, and physical security systems. To achieve this, a comprehensive governance structure was defined and aligned with the overall project fit-out programme and key design team activities.
Building Inmarsat’s technological backbone
We designed a highly flexible, adaptable, and resilient IT infrastructure and data cabling system to support Inmarsat’s complex operational and technical needs. Additionally, we developed a high-end security system tailored to standard users, visitors, and operatives requiring access to high-security operational spaces. The building featured new MS Teams-based meeting and collaboration systems, fully integrated with booking, scheduling, and control systems to provide a seamless user experience. Moreover, the facility included state-of-the-art VR/AR simulation spaces and demonstration/client experience areas.
