Business Development Manager - Built Environment Technology Consultancy
Job Description
We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager with strong industry relationships and a track record of identifying and shaping project opportunities. This role focuses on building trusted relationships with Project Managers, generating new project opportunities, and contributing to the strategic growth of the business
Key duties and responsibilities:
Relationship Development & Account Growth
• Build, nurture, and manage long-term relationships with Project Managers, Cost Consultants, and other key stakeholders.
• Act as the primary liaison to understand project needs, timelines, and challenges.
• Stay close to project cycles to identify opportunities early and support client requirements effectively.
Pipeline Generation & Opportunity Management
• Proactively generate new opportunities within target sectors or assigned accounts.
• Qualify opportunities and collaborate with the Sales Director on prioritisation and pursuit.
• Track market trends, competitor activity, and client project pipelines.
• Share actionable insights that influence wider sales strategy.
Networking & Market Presence
• Attend and represent Blend at industry networking events (e.g., CoreNet, BCO), both in the UK and internationally when required.
• Plan and host client-facing events with the Sales Director and marketing team.
• Expand brand awareness through proactive industry engagement, including LinkedIn and other channels.
Sales Process Support
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and bid documentation.
• Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce updates and reporting.
• Support the execution of strategic account plans and commercial initiatives.
Client Retention
• Maintain consistent communication with existing clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction.
• Identify risks to project delivery or client relationships and escalate appropriately.
• Support long-term partnerships by positioning Blend as a proactive, value-driven consultancy.
Reporting & Administration
• Provide updates on pipeline, activity, and account health.
• Contribute to quarterly business reviews and internal planning sessions.
Anticipated Person Profile:
- Experience selling or consulting in AV, IT, building systems, or smart building technology.
- Salesforce or similar CRM experience.
- Understanding of the RIBA stages.
- Strong presentation skills.
Skills & Experience Essential:
- Understanding of the built environment, construction and fit out industries.
- Network within Workplace or Hospitality project management communities.
- Background in the built environment: technology consultancy, MEP, architecture, fit‑out, PM, or similar.
- Proven experience generating pipeline and building relationships in a consultative sales environment.
- Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and guiding conversations around project challenges.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

IT Physical Infrastructure Designer
Job Description
Blend Technology Consultants are a leading IT, AV and Security design practice for the Built Environment. Now due to continued growth and expansion our organisation is currently looking for an experienced IT Physical Infrastructure Designer. The candidate will have experience of designing solutions in the following:
- IT Comms spaces and IT related M&E and Architectural requirements (Mandatory)
- Structured Cabling Systems (Mandatory)
- Logical/physical Data Network architectures – preferred
- Voice Systems and Unified Communications – preferred
- Smart Buildings experience would be advantageous although not essential
- AutoCAD experience would be advantageous although not essential
Ideally the candidate will have worked on Office/Workplace/Hospitality fitout, refurbishment or relocation projects and have exposure to RIBA work stages.
This will be a technically varied role with the chance to be exposed to some of the most prestigious construction/fitout/refurbishment projects across a broad range of market sectors. There are also opportunities for international travel (though this is not mandatory).
The role will include the preparation and co-ordination of IT design documentation/drawings for the development of projects. It will also require project management skills both during design and implementation phases.
You will work within our IT and Audio Visual Consultancy Group and be based in our London office.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Technical / Consulting:
- Engage with Clients to establish clear IT Briefs and technology requirements
- Provide input into technology strategy and briefing documentation
- Provide advisory and co-ordinate with Design team to agree Comms Room spaces and associated IT infrastructure
- Design & specify IT / Structured Cabling systems
- Coordinate & Manage the competitive procurement process
- Provide M&E, architectural & IT information to the professional team on the IT design
- Project Manage appointed contractors through project delivery including approving design submittals, site inspections, final commissioning & acceptance and client handover
- Oversee contractor off site and on site testing works
Anticipated Person Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, both technical and commercial, demonstrating the ability to provide high quality consultancy to clients.
- Proven track record of designing and specifying IT infrastructure in areas such as commercial office buildings, hotels, high end residential, sports stadia, university campuses etc.
- Some previous experience in consultancy with exposure to projects in the built environment is desirable. Otherwise work with a user, manufacturer, communications provider or systems house may be acceptable.
- A detailed working knowledge in some or all of the following: Comms Spaces, Cabling Systems; Physical and Logical Architectures and Configuration of Data Networks; Voice Systems and Unified Communications; and convergence of Business and Building systems.
- An understanding of associated design practices, performance standards and regulations.
- A team player who can work effectively with personnel at all levels
- Creative and persuasive personality, a self-starter, able to be both forceful and tactful
- Business oriented with the ability to address complex IT issues
- Clear and fluent communicator, both in written and spoken delivery.
- Graduate or graduate calibre, with a qualification in telecommunications, computing or electronics.
- Education: Degree level educated or relevant industry experience ideally with appropriate technology qualification such as CNID/CNIDP RCDD or BICSI.

IT Consultant and Project Manager

Programme/Project Manager
Job Description
Blend Technology Consultants are a leading IT, AV and Security design practice for the Built Environment. Now due to continued growth and expansion our organisation is currently looking for an experienced Programme/Project Manager. The candidate will have experience of the following:
- Leading multi-disciplined teams on prestigious, complex, high worth Built Environment projects in the Developer Base build / Office & Workplace and Hospitality sectors
- Acting as primary point of contact for Blend Consultants, Client, Design Team and Construction Project Managers to ensure that Blend deliver a consistent, high-quality service for projects
- Developing Project Governance, (MS) Programmes and Reporting information as required
- Working with Blend Commercial team to develop RFP response information and attending bid presentations
The candidate will have worked on Office/Workplace/Hospitality fitout, refurbishment or relocation projects and have had exposure to RIBA work stages.
It would be advantageous if the candidate had previous experience and/or working knowledge of IT Physical Infrastructure (Comms spaces, Structured Cabling), Active Network (LAN, WAN, WiFi), AV Systems and Physical Security systems
This will be a chance to be exposed to some of the most prestigious construction, fitout, refurbishment projects across a broad range of market sectors. There are also opportunities for international travel (though this is not mandatory).

- Provide Programme Management for the Blend team through project delivery including approving design submittals, site inspections, final commissioning & acceptance and client handover
Anticipated Person Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, demonstrating the ability to provide high quality Programme Management to both Blend and to clients.
- Formal qualification in Project Management e.g. PRINCE2, Agile, APM etc.
- Previous experience in consultancy with exposure to projects in the built environment
- A team player who can work effectively with personnel at all levels
- Creative and persuasive personality, a self-starter, able to be both forceful and tactful
- Business oriented with the ability to address complex IT issues
